Western Canada Wildlife Discovery
Delve into the heart of western Canada on this exciting self-drive holiday which combines adventure activities with wildlife viewing to create a truly unique holiday experience. 
Day 1: Calgary
Collect your rental car at Calgary airport and make your way to your hotel.
Overnight in Calgary.

Day 2: Calgary – Banff
Explore Calgary before departing west to Peter Lougheed Provincial Park, in Kananaskis and the resort town of Banff.
Overnight in Banff.

Day 3: Banff / Yoho National Park
Enjoy a day at leisure discovering Banff.
Included Activity: Evening wildlife safari (2 hours)
This tour includes an interpretative guide giving detailed commentary about the wildlife and ecology of the National Parks and transportation by minibus to key viewing sites.
Overnight in Banff.

Days 4: Banff – Jasper
Depart for the Icefield Parkway. You may choose to stop at the Columbia Icefield, one of the largest accumulations of ice south of the Arctic Circle.

Day 5: Jasper
Today relax and explore Jasper National Park.

Day 6: Jasper – Clearwater
Drive west via Mount Robson, highest peak in the Canadian Rockies, to Clea­water.

Day 7: Wells Gray Park
Wells Gray Park encompasses a broad spectrum of mountain scenery. The area is abundant in flora and fauna. Guided canoeing, horseback riding and hiking are available on site.

Day 8: Clearwater – Likely
Early Departure for Likely, Deep in the heart of British Columbia in the Caribou Mountains. The lush valley bottom ecosystems provide food and shelter for countless species, including Grizzly Bears and black bears, water fowl and furbearers.

Days 9-10: Bear Whisperer Package
You will be guided by local knowledgeable guides who will ensure your safety and a memorable experience. Here are some of the exciting things you can experience:
•Alpine hiking – with our trail systems a short hike puts you on the peaks and in high mountain valleys in an hour or less
•Free hand rock climbing
•Wildlife viewing ( grizzly, black bear, mountain goat, caribou, moose, wolf, mule deer, lynx, wolverine)
•Grizzly bear habitat and bear dens
•Ancient forests and wetlands (1000 year old western red cedars in this rare and unique interior rainforest)
•Wildlife calling and tracking
•Birding (eagles, osprey, herons, mountain dwellers, migratory birds).

Day 11: Likely - Lytton
Head down to Lytton and Kumsheen Resort. Kumsheen takes the personality of Anishinabe-style teepees and furnishes them with the comforts of our cabin tents to make for a truly unfor­gettable experience. Linen and towels are provided.

Day 12: Lytton - Victoria
Travel south to Tsawwassen to travel by ferry to Vancouver Island. Keep your camera at the ready during the crossing – orcas, seals and eagles may be spotted.

Day 13: Victoria
Explore British Columbia’s Provincial Capital. For the wildlife enthusiast optional whale watching excursions can also be pre-booked. A visit to the world renowned Butchart Gardens, just north of Victoria, is also highly recommended

The waters of Juan de Fuca Strait are home to pods of orca whales but grey whales, minke whales, humpback whales, dolphins and porpoise may also be sighted. Choose a 45-foot ocean cruiser or a zodiac boat.

Day 14: Victoria - Vancouver
Depart early on today’s journey back over the Strait of Georgia to Vancouver. Explore Vancouver, one of the most spectacular cities in the world. Highlight attractions you may wish to visit are the UBC Museum of Anthropology with displays on native culture and the Vancou­ver Aquarium.
Overnight in Vancouver.

Day 15: Vancouver
Tour ends. Last minute shopping and sightseeing be­fore making your way to Vancouver Airport for your flight home.
