Antigua
Introduction
Antigua is known for its beautiful beaches and clear blue water, having 365 beaches it literally has one for every day of the year. Â The largest of the Leeward Islands, it is just 14 miles long and 11 miles wide, making it perfect to explore if you wish to take a break from the beach. Â Its pristine waters are perfect for snorkling and scuba diving while the warm steady trade winds make it ideal for sailing. Antigua hosts its annual 10 day carnival in the last week of July, showcasing lively music and dancing. Â Â

Getting to and Travelling around
Fly direct from most major UK airports into Antigua\'s VC Bird International airport. Â Antigua is only 11 miles wide so you only have a short distance to travel to the beach resorts along the coastline. Â Car hire is a popular option in Antigua allowing you to visit all of the beaches and sights on offer. Â
Best Time and Weather
Antigua has all year round sunshine. January and February have the lowest temperature of around 25°C rising to 28°C in August. During the winter months of December through to March the temperature remains in the mid twenties. Antigua experiences low humidity making the tropical weather more bearable. Â

Passports and Visas
You will need a passport of at least six months\' validity. British passport holders do not currently require a visa to enter Antigua, although requirements are subject to change and we recommend you check with the relevant embassy for up to date information.
