Tsavo Safari - Madaraka Train

01 Feb - Early start! You will be collected by Rhino Safaris from Papillon Lagoon Reef and transferred to Mombasa SGR Station in time for an 0800 departure to Voi. You will have a reserved seat in a first-class carriage, and the journey takes around 1hr 49 mins to reach Voi Station (0800-0949). There you will be met by a safari vehicle from Saltlick Lodge, and you will set out for Taita Hills Game Sanctuary (50km / 1 hr.). On arrival, you will check into Saltlick Lodge. Time to relax and explore this spectacular lodge on stilts before lunch. An optional visit to their WW1 artifacts museum is included. Lunch and then set out on an afternoon game drive before returning to the lodge around dusk. Dinner and overnight stay at Saltlick Safari Lodge FB. Park View room. Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary is best known for its diverse and rare species, including endangered birds, unique reptiles, and the stunning backdrop of the Taita Hills; the sanctuary also hosts 56 recorded species of mammals, including elephant, lion, buffalo, giraffe, eland, oryx, cheetah, and leopard.

02 Feb - After breakfast, you will set out on a morning game drive in Taita Hills Game Sanctuary. Later return to the lodge for lunch and time to relax before setting out again in the afternoon for another game drive. Around dusk, you will return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay. Saltlick Safari Lodge FB. Park View room.

03 Feb - Another early morning game drive, returning to the lodge
for a leisurely breakfast before transferring to Voi Railway Station (1 hr.) for a 1208 departure to Mombasa, arriving at Mombasa Terminus at 1400. There you will be met by a car from Rhino Safaris and transferred to Papillon Lagoon Reef Hotel. End of services.
