Tue 20 Sep 22 - Halifax
Arrive Halifax. Welcome to Nova Scotia’s provincial capital, this attractive city is a bustling hub of art galleries, shops, museums, restaurants, sidewalk cafes, and vibrant nightlife centered around the picturesque waterfront. Officially founded in 1749 the history dates back even further to times of mi'kmaq Natives, European fisherman, and the early Acadians who came long before the British arrived. Overnight Halifax.


Wed 21 Sep 22 - Halifax - Lunenburg
Spend the morning exploring the Halifax Waterfront. Enjoy a tour of Pier 21 - the Canadian Museum of Immigration. Pier 21 is a National Historic Site that was the gateway to Canada for one million immigrants between 1928 and 1971. It also served as the departure point for 500,000 Canadian Military personnel during the Second World War. Depart Halifax and drive the south shore via the Lighthouse Route. En-route visit Peggys Cove, a picturesque fishing village surrounded by bare granite and coastal barrens and home to Nova Scotia’s most visited lighthouse. Continue on via Mahone Bay onto Lunenburg - the birthplace of the famous Bluenose schooner built in 1921. The town has earned its title as a UNESCO World Heritage Site because of its unique and colorful architecture.’. Overnight Lunenburg.


Thu 22 Sep 22 - Lunenburg / Annapolis Royal
Drive north along the Kejimkujik Scenic Drive via the Kejimkujic National Park and National Historic Site. , a spectacular National Park with walking trails to suit all and some of the best canoeing in Atlantic Canada. Visit the excellent visitor centre, which houses replicas of the native tools found by archaeologists dating back 4500 years ago. Continue on to Annapolis Royal overlooking the broad Annapolis Basin and the ferry gateway to New Brunswick. Overnight Annapolis Royal.


Fri 23 Sep 22 - Annapolis Royal / Pictou
Depart Annapolis Royal and continue along the Evangeline Trail and on to Pictou one of the largest communities along the Northumberland Shore. This community is rich in Scottish heritage and has a pleasant downtown district and a delightful developed waterfront area. Overnight Pictou.


Sat 24 Sep 22 - Pictou / Baddeck
Depart Pictou and continue on to Cape Breton via the Canso Causeway. Stop overnight in Baddeck, a scenic village overlooking the beautiful Bras d’Or Lakes. The most historically notable resident was Alexander Graham Bell - you can visit the National Historic Site named after him and learn more about his greatest inventions.


Sun 25 Sep 22 - Baddeck / Louisbourg
Depart Baddeck and follow the Cabot Trail winding around the rocky splendors of Cape Breton's northern shore, ascending to the incredible plateaus of Cape Breton Highlands National Park. Your route then takes you via Sydney and Glace Bay, home of the Miners Museum and Marconi National Historic Site. Glace Bay is the beginning of the Marconi Trail, named after Guglielmo Marconi the Italian inventor who sent the first transatlantic wireless message from here. Continue on to Louisbourg, home to the Fortress of Louisbourg National Historic Site, the largest historical reconstruction in North America. Hear the cannons and muskets fire, watch the changing of the guard and meet the villagers at this meticulously preserved and recreated French fortification of over 250 years ago. Mon 26 Sep 22 - Louisbourg / Liscomb Lodge
Depart Louisbourg and continue on to Canso Causeway. From here you will drive along the Eastern Shore and follow the Marine Drive Route where you will find nature, history, and culture, as well as rugged coast, tranquil bays and beaches, unspoiled forest fauna, and crystal clear lakes and streams. Be sure to visit Sherbrook Village a typical Nova Scotian Village from the 1860s with most of the interpreters are dressed in period costumes. Continue on to Liscomb Mills where you can relax and enjoy your surroundings. You can
choose from many outdoor activities such as kayaking, harbour tours, Canoeing, and much more. Overnight Liscomb Lodge.


Tue 27 Sep 22 - Liscomb Lodge / Halifax
Depart Liscomb Mills and take a leisurely drive back to Halifax. En-route visit Musquodoboit Harbour & Valley, a haven for nature lovers, and Martinique Beach, the longest beach in the province. Drop off your rental car in Halifax on arrival ready for your onward journey.
