The trip begins with a 20-minute drive from Fortuna to the river. Float down the river for approximately two hours, during which you will have an opportunity to see much of Costa Rica's famous wildlife and have an interactive conversation with the guide. The boat trip down the Peas Blancas River offers a relaxing way to enjoy the abundant wildlife surrounding the banks of this lush paradise. Take pictures of the rainforest canopy teeming with monkeys, or take a closer look at a tropical bird with your binoculars while you float in the oar boat. The naturalist will paddle, and you can just relax like the iguanas nearby sunning themselves on the branches. At the end of the river portion of this trip, you will arrive at a local working farm where the owner is a well-known Costa Rican horse breeder and trainer. His wife makes delicious homemade typical snacks and serves these treats with our world-renowned coffee made the old-fashioned way. If you prefer juice over coffee, there is something for everyone's desires.
