Recommended flight BKI Make sure your flight arrival in Sandakan is by 0800hrs. Or if not possible, recommend flying in and staying one night in Sandakan or Sepilok before the tour commences. Meet upon arrival at Sandakan Airport or your hotel in Sandakan. Transfer to Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre. There, youll get to learn about the habilitation effort done at the center through a short video screening. Make your way to the feeding platform to witness the feeding of the orangutans. You can also spend time observing the cheeky, little younglings in an enclosed nursery area. Thereafter visit the Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre to learn about the conservation of the world's smallest bear. Note on Camera Use at Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre:
For any camera with a zoom lens from 100 to 400mm, a video camera or other video recording equipment for personal use is chargeable at MYR 10.00 per unit. Any camera (fixed-lens - 400mm and above) or any film-making equipment are chargeable at MYR 1,000.00 per unit. The mode of payment is cash only. After lunch, embark on a scheduled land transfer at 1330hrs. The estimated overland journey is 2 hours to the multi awards winning Sukau Rainforest Lodge. Right after checking in, well head out into the wild for your late afternoon river safari in search of Borneo wildlife and birds.
