Arrive at Delhi Airport at 0855 hrs by EK 510 Flight from London Heathrow via Dubai. Welcome to India !!! Meet and Greet upon arrival at the airport by our Airport Representative. After meet and Greet at the airport, you will then be transferred to your Hotel for check-in. Afternoon set out to explore New Delhi with a private guide, which reflects the legacy the British left behind. The division between New and Old Delhi is the division between the capitals of the British and the Mughals respectively. The division in the walled city and New Delhi also marks the division in the lifestyles. The walled city is all tradition where one will be able to glean a past lifestyle in all its facets, colors, and spells. New Delhi in contrast, is a city trying to live up to the best of 21st century standards. The tour to Imperial Delhi will start with a visit to the Qutab Minar, the tallest stone tower in India. The QutabMinar was started in 1199 AD by Qutab-ud-Din Aibak and completed by the sultan's successor and son-in-law, Iltutmish. The building is 72.5 m high and has 379 steps from the bottom to the top. The Minar is tapering with the diameter of the base is 14.3 m while at the top floor, it is 2.7 m. The Qutab Minar is still the highest stone tower as well as one of the finest Islamic structures ever raised in India. Then, visit Humayun Tomb, built by the widow of the second Mughal Emperor, Humayun, it is an outstanding monument in the Indo-Persian style, a precursor of the Taj Mahal. In the morning set out for a customized walking tour of Old Delhi with an expert guide. This route includes some prominent sites and some veiled places. Explore popular places like the Red Fort, Jama Masjid mosque, Gurudwara Sis Ganj, Chandni Chowk, Wedding bazaar etc. Walk through some extremely narrow alleys where you can witness the day-to-day life of the city dwellers and get a close image of its rich culture and family traditions. While walking in the narrow alleys pass by some ancient temples, havelis with beautiful facades, ethnically dressed men and women, small units manufacturing outfits, jewelry, wedding cards, gift boxes, breads, etc. In complete contrast to the calm alleys also visit the vibrant and bustling bazaars. During the walk stop to sample some popular street food of Old Delhi Later Drive to Agra and visit Agra Fort - Approachable by two imposing gates and constructed of red sandstone, the citadel was built by the Mughal Emperor Akbar between the years 1565 and 1573. Encircled by a moat, this dramatic city within a city was the palace of three emperors, Akbar, Shah Jehan, and Aurangzeb, each of whom made significant contributions to the wonderful architecture of the inner buildings a combination of Persian (Islamic) and local Hindu styles. Set off this morning to explore the yellow-hued Amer Fort by Jeep that served as the medieval capital of theKacchwaha Rajputs until the 18th century. One of Rajasthan's finest hill-top forts, Amer is particularly noted for the stunning Sheesh Mahal pavilion (Palace of Mirrors). On the way back to the city, enjoy a photo stop at Peace of Winds otherwise known as Hawa Mahal. Five stories in height and built of red and pink sandstone highlighted with white quicklime, it is thought that the women of the royal harem used the many casements to observe everyday life in the street below without being seen. Thereafter visit the Jaipur City Palace where we have included privileged access to the royal quarters of Jaipur's Royal family to see their private collections. Then explore the Jantar Mantar astronomical observatory a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
