Pick up time 08:00-08:10hrs. 07:25 hours Arrive at Sandakan Airport and drive for approximately 30 minutes to Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Center. Proceed to the free roaming area feeding platform. 1000hrs feeding of Orang Utan. At this center, observe man's closest relative the Orang Utan being rehabilitated to become wild in their natural habitat and experience a walk in the Tropical Lowland Dipterocarp Forest of Borneo. visit to the Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre, the center that managed to improve the living conditions of the rescued sun bears and released their natural behaviors in the 2.5ha enclosed forest. Note on Camera Use at Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre: For any camera with a zoom lens from 100 to 400mm, a video camera or other video recording equipment for personal use is chargeable at MYR 10.00 per unit. Any camera (fixed-lens - 400mm and above) or any film-making equipment is chargeable at MYR 1,000.00 per unit. The mode of payment is cash only. Depart Sepilok Centre and transfer to the jetty in Sandakan. 1200hrs Depart on a scheduled boat transfer and take an hour boat cruise up to the Lower Kinabatangan River Sanctuary where you will take your lunch at Abai Jungle Restaurant. Check-in Abai Jungle Lodge. Late in the afternoon, you'll be experiencing a cruise to search for wildlife until the sun sets while enjoying a cup of coffee. As darkness slowly settles in, witness myriads of fireflies illuminating the Christmas- trees along the riverbank. Return to the lodge for dinner. 06:30 hours Early morning take a river trip to the Pitas oxbow lake to observe wildlife and experience the uniqueness of this lake. After breakfast, free at leisure to explore the boardwalk around the lodge. In the afternoon, visit the nearby Abai Village and enjoy a simple lunch arranged by the villagers. This project is specially designed to help the locals. Return to the lodge, free to explore the nature boardwalk behind the lodge, make sure you bring along your binoculars and look for any tree moving!! There may be..wild orang-utan!
