Best of Both Worlds
A Bush and Beach vehicle will pick you up from your inner city accommodation to commence a full-day Best of Both Worlds tour. Experience the best sights of Auckland City in the morning combined with an afternoon Wilderness Experience - a day of contrasts. Auckland is set on 53 dormant volcanic cones and it is New Zealand's largest and busiest city. The morning city tour is designed to explore the history and sights of the city as well as see how Aucklanders live and play. This small group tour includes stops at iconic landmarks, such as the Auckland Domain, Mount Victoria in Devonport and Westhaven Marina and gives an insight into the Maori history of the area and the legends and stories behind some of the place names. There will be a quick stop to purchase lunch at a local bakery (at your own expense) before the afternoon portion of the tour commences. A 30-minute drive from downtown Auckland brings you to the Arataki Centre, perched high in the Waitakere Ranges, a ridge of hills separating Auckland from its surf-fringed west coast. Here the sweeping decks give breathtaking panoramic views from the Tasman Sea to the Pacific Ocean. Your knowledgeable and experienced guides will talk about local history and explain the significance of the magnificent traditional Maori carvings that stand guard there. Head further west and experience the power of the wild and rugged west coast at Piha Beach. Feel the soft, black sand beneath your feet as you stroll along one of the most awe-inspiring beaches the world has to offer. During the afternoon you will also have a New Zealand-style afternoon tea, including biscuits (cookies), Manuka honey and tea, coffee or juice. Suitable for all ages.
