Sri Lanka is a lush, tropical island paradise, known to Arab traders as Serendib hence "serendipity", meaning discovery by happy accident. Set in the Indian Ocean in South Asia, the tropical island nation of Sri Lanka has a history dating back to the birth of time. It is a place where the original soul of Buddhism still flourishes and where natures beauty remains abundant and unspoiled.

There are 8 world heritage sites in Sri Lanka. The 3 ancient and magnificent cities of Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa and Sigiriya were inscribed in the UNESCO World Heritage list in 1982 followed by Galle, Kandy, and the Sinharaja Forest Reserve in 1988. The Golden Temple of Dambulla in 1991 and finally the Central highlandswereaddedin2010. These places of historical and natural significance are not to be missed for any visitor to Sri Lanka. Having a history marked by four centuries of colonial rule, the country still manages to safeguard remnants from the past in their original grandeur. Some of them are renowned historic sites are the Galle Fort built originally by the Portuguese, Colombo Harbor and the ancient city of Polonnaruwa all confirm Sri Lankas ancient and colorful past. The rock temple of the Buddha, Gal Vihara is one of the finest examples of the religious heritage. Temples play an important part in everyday life and a visit to one should be a must for all visitors.

Mon 18 Apr 22 - Airport / Habarana
Arrive at Colombo Bandaranaike Airport.
Our airport representative will meet you on arrival and introduce you to the chauffeur guide who will accompany you throughout the tour. Transfer to accommodation in Habarana and check-in to the hotel. (Private Transfer approximate driving duration 4-5hours)

Tue 19 Apr 22 - Sigiriya/ Minneriya (Breakfast &s; Dinner )
After breakfast, proceed to Sigiriya and hike the majestic Sigiriya Rock Fortress. (Approximate drive duration: 15minutes) Built by an obsessed monarch in the 5th century, Sigiriya or Lion Rock is an astonishing feat of engineering and construction. Set in the cultural heart of Sri Lanka, Sigiriya rises a sheer 200 meters above a forested plain, its flattened summit sloping gently. Designated a world heritage Site by UNESCO in 1982, Sigiriya is Asias best-preserved city of the first millennium, showing complex urban planning around the base of the rock, combined with sophisticated engineering and irrigation skills in the palace perched on the summit. On completion, proceed on a jeep safari to visit the Minneriya National Park - The park is famous for being the best place in Sri Lanka to get close to free-ranging elephants. Wed 20 Apr 22 - Habarana/ Kandy (Breakfast &s; Dinner)
After breakfast, proceed to Kandy via Matale. Stop at Matale and visit a spice garden to see many different types of spices Sri Lanka is famous for. (Approximate drive duration from Habarana to Kandy: 3 3 hours) You will be introduced to different spices and shown how some of these spices are grown and processed. Gardens are open to visitors, a delightful place to stroll in fragrant greenery and learn about nutmeg, pepper vines, clove trees and curry, cinnamon, and the precious cardamom, a relative of ginger. It grows in the shade of high jungle trees and can only be harvested by hand. On completion, proceed to Kandy and check-in to the hotel. Later, Commence a sightseeing tour of Kandy and visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic (A World Heritage Site)

In the crown jewel of the city, Kandy is the famed Sri Dalada Maligawa, also known as the Temple of the Tooth.
The golden-roofed Temple of the Sacred Tooth houses Sri Lanka's most important Buddhist relic a tooth of the Buddha. The entire complex is over three centuries old at least, and has seen many kings rise and fall. It has seen bloody wars and peaceful reigns and is one of the most historical places still standing in the island. The entire temple complex, from peaked tiled roofs to white walls with large airy windows, is built using classical Kandyan architecture. On completion, return to your hotel and relax. Thu 21 Apr 22 - Kandy/ Nuwara Eliya / Ella (Breakfast &s; Dinner)
Today after breakfast, check out and proceed to Nuwara Eliya and commence a sightseeing tour. (Approximate drive duration: 1-2 hours)
Nuwara Eliya is set in the heart of tea-country is a beautiful town where the British succeeded in creating a replica of the English countryside, with homes in styles from Georgian to Queen Anne. Well-kept lawns with hedges, an Anglican church, a famous golf course, and beautiful parks give the place an air of nostalgia. Situated 6,200 feet above sea level, the air is cool and fresh a serene retreat from the hustle and bustle of the
city life. Pony and Horse riding is available at the turf club of Nuwara Eliya to facilitate you with some sports and adventure.

Fri 22 Apr 22 - Ella sightseeing (Breakfast &s; Dinner)

Sat 23 Apr 22 - Ella/ Kataragama/ Kaluatara ( Breakfast &s; Dinner)
After breakfast, check out and proceed to Kalutara. (Approximate drive duration: 4-5 hours). En-route, visit Kataragama town and temple. Kataragama temple in Kataragama, Sri Lanka, is a temple complex dedicated to Buddhist guardian deity Kataragama deviyo and Hindu War God Murugan. It is one of the few religious sites in Sri Lanka that is veneratedb by the Buddhists, Hindus, Muslims, and the Vedda people. On completion, proceed to the hotel. Check-in and relax.
