Day 01: London Heathrow to Delhi by flight


Day 02: Delhi
Arrive Delhi, Upon arrival at Delhi airport, you will be welcome, met and assist by our representative and transfer to your Hotel. This afternoon we will have the opportunity to go from Rajiv Chowk to Chandni Chowk to taste delicious dishes prepared by well established and reputable street vendors. There will be something for every taste, vegetarian and non-vegetarian, on a tour which will last between 3 and 4 hours and take in about 4-5 different food stalls. Overnight stay at Hotel


Day 03: Delhi
After breakfast, we will set off to explore the highlights of New Delhi stopping at Humayun’s Tomb, which was commissioned by the first wife of Mughal Emperor Humanyun in the 16th Century after his death. We will continue on to to a true landmark of Delhi, the Qtub Minar, a 72.5-metre high minaret which is part of the Qtub complex and was commissioned by Qutub-ud-Din Aibak in 1193 to celebrate Muslim dominance in Delhi. We will drive past the Rashtrapati Bhawan, formerly the Viceroy’s residence and now the official residence of the President of India, before a brief stop at The India Gate, an imposing arch which was built to commemorate the 70,000 Indian soldiers who died in WW1 and the British and Indian soldiers killed in the Afghan War of 1919 (all of which are engraved on the arch and foundations). Approximately at 1700 Hrs, your cooking demonstration will start followed by Dinner at Saffron Palate. Overnight stay at Hotel


Day 04: Delhi
After breakfast, we will set off on a city tour of Old Delhi and our first stop will be at the Raj Ghat, which is the memorial to Mahatma Gandhi, located on the banks of the river Yamuna, We will continue into Old Delhi, driving past the Red Fort, an impressive 17th-century monument which is surrounded by 100 ft high walls, and home to numerous palaces, monuments and gardens. We will stop and board our ‘cycle rickshaw' for a unique experience from the Red Fort, through "Chandni Chowk" or Silver Street, experiencing the sights and sounds of this very busy avenue-heading west from the Fort. Close to the Red Fort is the Jama Masjid (Friday Mosque) which is a stunning complex, created from red sandstone and white marble in 1656, and which is one of India’s largest mosques and can accommodate up to 20,000 people for prayer. After lunch (not included) we will enjoy a leisurely visit to Akshardham Temple with its impressive 141ft high monument to Bhagwan Swaminarayan. Designed according to ancient Vedic texts known as the Sthapatya-Shastra, it features a blend of architectural styles from across India. The building is constructed entirely from Rajasthani pink sandstone and Italian Carrara marble and features no steel or concrete. Situated on the banks of the Yamuna River and with its splendidly intricate carvings of flora, fauna, dancers, musicians and deities covering its walls, the Temple is an architectural work of art. Day 05: Delhi to Kalka by train Shatabadi Express:0740-1145 Hrs
Kalka to Kandaghat by surface, Kandaghat to Shimla by train 1521-1730 Hrs, An early start today as we transfer to New Delhi railway station where we will catch the 0740 train to Kalka. Arrive Kalka at 1145. Local snacks, tea/coffee and breakfast will be served on board
When we arrived at Kalka railway station we will drive to Kandaghat railway station to board Toy Train from Kandaghat to Shimla rail route, offers the charm of old-world travel amidst lofty pines and lush green, misty mountains. This is one of the four narrow gauge rail routes on hilly terrain in the country.
1730 Hrs: Arrive at Shimla railway station. Finally, we reach to Shimla. The scenery and ambience of this area attracted toe British in such measure that it seemed justifiable to shift the complete administration of an Empire from Calcutta to Shimla. Overnight stay at Hotel


Day 06: Shimla
This morning we’ll enjoy a fabulous excursion to Kufri & Chail. Kufri is around 10 miles from Shimla and is a small hill station. Its name means ‘lake’ in the local language. Further along, we reach the beautiful hill station of Chail with its stunning views of the Himalayan foothills. Chail was built as a summer capital by the Maharaja of Patiala, after being exiled from Shimla by Britain’s Lord Kitchener. Overnight stay at Hote


Day 07: Shimla
This morning we’ll enjoy a Heritage Walk, passing through many historical and Heritage buildings, each possessing a different style of architecture and holding many stories of the past. We stop for a break on the way to give you a closer look at the various architectural sites of the British era. Later you’ll continue your sightseeing of this hill station by visiting the following :
- the State Museum (Closed on Mondays). This building was a private residence of Lord William Beresford, the Military Secretary to the viceroys for many years.
- the Viceregal Lodge Indian Institute of Advanced Study: the site for Viceregal Lodge was selected by Lord Lytton the Viceroy of India between 1876 -1880.
- Jake Temple and Hill (2455 metres.): this is the town's highest peak and a vantage point for Shimla's famous views. The summit is crowned with a temple dedicated to the monkey God, Hanuman. This also offers a superb view of Shimla and the surrounding snow-capped Himalayan peaks and green pastures.

Day 08: Shimla to Dharamshala by surface
Today after breakfast we will drive from Shimla to Dharamshala - This is a hill station lying on the spur of the Dhauladhar range about 17 kms northeast of Kangra town. This hill station is wooded with oak and conifer trees and snow-capped mountains enfold three sides of the town while the valley stretches in front. The snowline is perhaps more easily accessible at Dharamshala than at any other hill resort and it is possible to make a day's trek to a snow-point after an early morning's start. Dharamshala is also the headquarter of the Kangra district. Upon arrival at Dharamshala, check-in at Hotel. Rest of the day at leisure and Overnight stay at Hotel


Day 09: Dharamshala
Enjoy a sightseeing tour of Dharamshala Mcleod Ganj: Mcleodganj is a beautiful town on the top of Dharamshala, blessed equally nature and religion. Mcleodganj often called the ‘Little Lhasa’. This is the residence of His Holiness Dalai Lama, The Buddha temple is situated opposite to the present abode of His Holiness and it is the major centre for the studies of Tibetan culture. St. John's Church: The church of St. John's in the wilderness lies on a memorable road between McLeod Ganj and Forsythe Ganj. It is a dressed stone church in whose courtyard lies the grave of Lord Elgin, one of the Viceroys of India who died at Dharamshala in 1863.Bhagsunag Falls: At a distance of 2 km from the upper town of Dharamshala, Bhagsunag can be approached by road; here an old temple, a freshwater spring, hotels and restaurants are located. Further, about 2 km is beautiful Bhagsunag waterfall which soothes one's eyes. Norbulinka Institute: Just 13 km from Mcleodganj, Norbulinka was established to preserve and teach the ancient Tibetan arts. It named after a summer residence of Dalai Lama at Lhasa. Here one can watch the wooden carvings and the thangka paintings, clothing and embroidery being done. There is a beautiful Buddha temple inside the institute. Overnight stay at Hotel


Day 10: Dharamshala to Amritsar by surface
After breakfast, we will check out from Hotel and drive from Dharamshala to Amritsar meaning “pool of the nectar of immortality”. It is the spiritual and cultural centre of Sikh religion When we arrive at Amritsar, check-in at the Hotel. Rest of the day at leisure and Overnight stay at Hotel


Day 11: Amritsar
Morning visit Golden Temple– the holiest shrine of the Sikh religion. The Golden Temple sits on a rectangular platform, surrounded by a pool of water called the Amrit Sarovar after which the city is named. Visitors to the Golden Temple must remove their shoes, wash their feet and cover their heads with a scarf. See the preparation of Langar at Golden Temple - the holiest shrine of the Sikh religion. After Golden Temple, we will pass through local bazaar flooded with things you want to buy. One can experience the true beauty of Amritsar. Jalianwala Bagh – Here on 13 April 1919 British Indian Army soldiers under the command of Brigadier-General Reginald Dyer opened fire on an unarmed gathering of men, women and children and killed 379 people. In the afternoon excursion to Wagah border to witness the change of guard ceremony between India and Pakistan armies. Overnight stay at Hotel


Day 12: Amritsar

Day 13: Amritsar to Delhi by train Shatabadi Express: 1650-2315 Hrs
Morning at leisure, Noon standard checks out time. Transfer from Hotel to Amritsar railway station in time to board the train for Delhi. Local snacks, tea/coffee and Dinner will be served on board. Arrive at New Delhi railway station. Upon arrival at the New Delhi railway station, we will transfer to the Hotel. Overnight stay at Hotel


Day 14: Delhi to London Heathrow by flight
Transfer from Hotel to Delhi airport in time to board flight for London Heathrow
