Enjoy rum tasting with local experts.

This is a perfect time to enjoy a special dinner. There are several restaurants that are very sought after by locals and visitors alike that require a reservation in advance. So if an elaborate multi-course tasting menu by an international Chef with many years in Puerto Rico calls attention, or a local up-and-coming culinary star is of interest, please let us know prior to your arrival so we can book a table for you.

Sat 08 Oct 22 - San Juan Ponce Guanica (150 km, 2 h 20 min)
Breakfast at the hotel and check-out. Pick up your rental car and drive across the island's picturesque mountain range, stopping at Guavate for a typical Puerto Rican lunch (not included). Continue your trip south to visit Ponce, the southern capital of
Puerto Rico. Ponce is known for its firefighters and a world-class museum with a surprising collection of classical European and local art, including a number of Pre-Raphaelite artists. Drive an additional 30 km to arrive at Copamarina Hotel, a beach resort in Guanica. Founded in 1508, Guanica was originally known as the town of twelve streets. Enjoy the relaxing Caribbean sun and beach by day (the hotel ferry or kayak can take you to the mangrove islands right in front of the shore) and relax with tropical
drinks at the bar by night.

Sun 09 Oct 22 - Guanica - Cabo Rojo ( 50km, 1 hour)
Breakfast at the hotel.
Swim with the fish at the Gilligans Island nearby, explore desert-like Guanica dry forest or simply relax at the splendid beaches of Cabo Rojo, beach hopping from Playa Sucia to Buye, and then to Combate and Boqueron. The West of Puerto Rico is known for its stunning sunsets; indulge in photography or simply live the magic of the moment.

Mon 10 Oct 22 - Guanica - La Parguera (25km, 25 min) or Ponce (45km, 40 min)
Breakfast at the hotel.
Visit la Parguera for snorkeling and diving during the day and for a bio bay kayaking at night (optional). Another option is to visit Ponces Art Museum, take the tour of the Don Q Distillery (its rum manufacturing operation started about the same time when
Bacardi was founded in Cuba in the middle of the 19th century). Close the evening at la Guancha (a picturesque marina where the entire families come out for a stroll on weekends) for a leisurely walk and typical finger foods.

Tue 11 Oct 22 - Guanica Isabela (approx. 94km, 1 h 30 min )
Breakfast at the hotel. Drive northeast towards Isabela. Enjoy a nice lunch at Rincon Beach.
Check-in at your waterfront Parador in Isabela and relax.

Wed 12 Oct 22 - Isabela-Camuy (approx. 40 km, 55 min )
Breakfast at the Hotel. Drive east to the recently re-opened Camuy Caves (optional). The caverns are part of an extensive network of natural limestone caves and underground waterways carved out by the Ro Camuy, one of the largest underground rivers in the world. While the cave system was officially discovered in 1958, archeological evidence shows that the caves were explored hundreds of years ago by the Island's indigenous inhabitants. Over 10 miles of caverns, including 220 caves and 17 entrances to the Camuy cave system have been mapped. However, this is only a fraction of the entire web of underground passages, which many experts believe holds another 800 caves. Camuy Caves National Park, a part of the system open to the public, features
enormous natural halls, a walkway over the underground river, and numerous stalagmite and stalactite formations. It is well-lit, paved, and equipped for safety. Please wear comfortable shoes with non-slip soils as some surfaces may be wet.
Enjoy lunch nearby and visit the historic city of Lares where you can try its iconic ice cream, known for its unusual flavors based on local cuisine (not included). Return to the hotel.

Thu 13 Oct 22 - Isabela - Aguadilla (approx. 40 km, 20 min)
Breakfast at the Hotel.
Enjoy Playa Punta Borinquen or Playa Crash Boat in Aguadilla. Open-air beachfront restaurants are situated along the coast, often sitting on tall piles towering over the water, offering marvelous ocean views along with fresh seafood and tropical drinks.
If you like golf, enjoy the game at a local resort overlooking the ocean. Relax and return to the hotel.

Fri 14 Oct 22 - Isabela San Juan Isla Grande Airport ( approx. 120 km 1 h 45m)-Vieques
Breakfast at the hotel and check out. Enjoy a highway back to the San Juan area to then take a flight to the island of Vieques, a part of the Puerto Rican archipelago, also known as Crab Island on the old British maps. Home to amazing beaches with quiet waters, roaming horses, omnipresent mango trees, remnants of age-old sugar plantations from the Spanish times, and, for the fans of modern history, abandoned Cold War bunkers. Drop off your car at the airport. NOTE: This is a small local airport near the cruise port and San Juan Convention Center, not to be confused with the San Juan International Airport.

Private transfer from VQS Airport to your accommodation of choice (Hacienda Tamarindo or Villa Cielito Lindo).
Enjoy a relaxing evening strolling the waterfront (el Malecon) at the Esperanza village, enjoying drinks at open-air bars (Lazy Jacks is our favorite, with fish and chips as a tribute to the owner's British roots). Vieques is also home to unique restaurants, please ask us for tips on the best places for the season.
