Itinerary:
Sat 16 Apr 22 - Los Angeles Arrival
Welcome to Los Angeles. On the eve of this incredible journey, you will meet up with your fellow riders for an orientation meeting at the hotel as we prepare to ride through some of the greatest and undisturbed desert roads left in North America. Your tour guide will provide you a thorough overview of what to expect in the coming days and answer any last-minute questions you may have. I'm sure there may also be a cold drink or two to be shared.

Sun 17 Apr 22 - Los Angeles, CA Ensenada
After our welcome breakfast, we pick up our motorcycles from EagleRider. Shortly after we are on the road cruising south along the California coastline to the border at Tijuana, Mexico. About an hour after we have entered Mexico we will reach our final destination for today, the bustling port town of Ensenada. Tonight we will enjoy a delicious gourmet dinner made fresh from the local catch. Watch the sunset over Ensenada Bay and it won't take you long to realize you are on the cusp of something special.

Mon 18 Apr 22 - Ensenada Catavina
We head south on Mexico Highway 1 leaving the busy border towns behind as we ride south. We dive deeper into Baja where Cirio trees and giant Cardon cacti begin to appear alongside the road. We enter the Vizcaino Desert, one of the most fascinating desert regions on this continent, and experience expansive views of boulder formations, rugged hills, and dense desert vegetation. We arrive in Catavina just in time to watch the desert sunset behind huge boulders and Cardon cacti. We have a long ride tomorrow so be sure to get a good night's rest.

Tue 19 Apr 22 - Catavina San Ignacio
Today we cross the state line from Baja Norte into Baja Sur. You will notice a change in landscape as we ride over several 3,000-foot summits, past flat-topped volcanic cones and cactus-covered hills into the charming pueblo San Ignacio, an authentic desert oasis located at the bottom of a wide arroyo with date palms and a natural spring fed pond where we overnight.

Wed 20 Apr 22 - San Ignacio Loreto
Ahead of us, this morning is the massive Volcan Las Tres Virgenes which tells us the origin of recent lava flows around us. We descend Devils Grade, seven miles of switchbacks that take us down to the warm waters of the Sea of Cortez. Winding along the shores beautiful Bahia Conception, one further scenic delight of Baja California, with deep-blue waters, volcanic islands and isolated beaches. In the afternoon we reach Loreto which is the oldest Spanish settlement along the West Coast. The town offers a picturesque central plaza, shopping and a selection of excellent restaurants.

Thu 21 Apr 22 - Loreto - La Paz
Today we continue through the desert on Hwy 1 through Ciudad Constitucion where we stop for lunch. Our afternoon ride will take us east across the broad desert expanse over to the coast of the Sea of Cortez and Loreto. Loreto was the departure point from which Junipero Serra launched his northward quest in 1769 to establish a chain of missions in Alta California.

Fri 22 Apr 22 - La Paz Cabo San Lucas
Under the shadow of Cerro del Venado, we roll into San Jose del Cabo and down the coast of Bahia San Lucas which was a favorite hiding place for pirates who laid in wait for Spanish treasure ships in the 16th and 17th centuries. Today our destination is the popular resort town of Cabo San Lucas and we are here to enjoy it all. Just before arriving in Cabo, we get a view of Lands End,' the southernmost tip of the Baja peninsula!

Sat 23 Apr 22 - Cabo San Lucas Free Day
Today you have the chance to relax on the beautiful white beaches and enjoy the tranquil city of Cabo San Lucas.

Sun 24 Apr 22 - Cabo San Lucas - Los Barriles
Today we will have a casual start allowing time in the morning to do some shopping or take in an early morning tour. From Cabo, we will ride along the coastal highway to the town of San Jose del Cabo where we will have lunch and visit the historic city. The city center offers many art galleries as well as the Mission San Jose del Cabo founded in 1730. We will also stop at the Tropic of Cancer Visitor Center before heading to our beachfront resort in Los Barriles!

Mon 25 Apr 22 - Los Barriles - Loreto
Today we ride! We'll take Hwy 1 through Ciudad Constitucion where we stop for lunch. Our afternoon ride will take us east across the broad desert expanse over to the coast of the Sea of Cortez and Loreto. Founded in 1697 by Jesuit Missionaries, Loreto is the oldest Spanish settlement on the Baja peninsula. On our way, we will ride some of the best twisty roads through the mountains of Sierra de la Laguna to the picturesque historic mining town of El Triunfo and one of the best coffee shops in Baja.

Tue 26 Apr 22 - Loreto - Guerrero Negro
We continue north on Mexico Highway 1 with Conception Bay on our right. We'll stop at one of the beautiful sandy coves where you can take a dip in the warm waters. Lunch will be in the small village of Mulege, a cute traditional Mexican Town located at the mouth of a river. Back on the road, we ride via Santa Rosalia to San Ignacio where we take an ice cream break in the town plaza. From San Ignacio, we continue across the barren Vizcaino desert to our hotel in the town of Guerrero Negro, just south of the Baja California Sur state border. The area around Guerrero Negro is part of the El Vizcaino Biosphere Reserve, designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1993, which encompasses bays, lagoons, vast expanses of the Sonoran Desert, and the rugged Sierra Mountains. Scammon's Lagoon is an important breeding and birthing site for the California gray whale.

Wed 27 Apr 22 - Guerrero Negro - San Quintin
Our ride continues north on Highway 1 through the vast desert landscape of Valle de Los Cirios. The desert is full of a large variety of plants including the Dr. Suess-looking Cirio tree. After a lunch stop in Catavina, we wind through twisty roads back toward the Pacific coast and finally to our beachfront hotel in San Quintin where a beachside bonfire and cold drinks await us.

Thu 28 Apr 22 - San Quintin - Ensenada
We leave the beautiful beach of San Quintin and are on our way to Ensenada. The port city boasts a scenic setting, pleasant weather, duty-free shopping, fine sport fishing, and close proximity to the United States. Ensenada is famous for its fish tacos and Hussong's Cantina, Baja's oldest bar. Before we reach Ensenada, we will visit La Bufadora a place the ocean waves get forced up through a crack in the cliffs and create a sizeable geyser. The area around La Bufadora is filled with shops and you will have a chance to try a stuffed barbecued giant clam Baja-style! Enjoy your last evening south of the border.

Fri 29 Apr 22 - Ensenada - Los Angeles, CA
Today your trip will take you back to the United States. We take Hwy 3 out of Ensenada and enjoy a scenic ride through the vineyards of Valle de Guadalupe towards the Mexico/U.S. border at Tecate. Once back in the US, will ride through some great motorcycle roads in the eastern San Diego countryside as we make our way to the coast in San Diego. After a lunch stop, we'll head into Los Angeles. It is a bittersweet feeling as it is now time to return our bikes at EagleRider's LAX location with images of Baja swirling in our heads.
