Itinerary:


Day 1: Delhi
- Upon arrival at the airport, you will be met and transferred to your hotel.
- 1400 hrs: Standard check in time.
- Afternoon you will proceed for 3-4 Hrs food walk through the old city to enjoy the local hygienic food. We visit 4-5 different food places and taste the authentic local street food
Chandni Chowk, often called the food capital of India, is famous for its street food. The variety consists of snacks, especially chaat. If you wish to enjoy it, shed your high-brow attitude to soak in the flavors and delicacies.


Chandni Chowk resembles a fair everyday. The streets are lined with halwais (sweet-sellers), namkeen wallahs (sellers of savouries) and Paranthewallahs (sellers of rich, flaky breads soaked in ghee). A good idea would be to start with the Paranthewali Gali. It became a famous gourmet locality when the parantha shops moved here in the 1870s. The real flavour of the Delhi street food lies in the chaat. The original chaat is a mixture of potato pieces, crispy fried bread, Dahi Bhalla, gram and tangy-salty spices. Kachori, usually stuffed with pulses and served with potato curry, is another delicacy that makes your mouth water.

Day 2: Delhi
Full day sightseeing tour of Delhi. You will get a feel for this city as you explore its historic sights. Raj Ghat which is located on the banks of the river Yamuna, This is Mahatma Gandhi’s Memorial, where he was cremated following his assassination in January 1948. Opposite the Red Fort lies Jama Masjid made of red sandstone and white marble, completed in 1656. It is India’s largest mosque. Explore the bustling cultural delight of the colourful market on the 'cycle rickshaw' for a unique experience from the Red Fort, through "Chandni Chowk" or Silver Street, experiencing the sights and sounds of this very busy avenue-heading west from the Fort. You will take a view of Red Fort – the 17th century imposing fortress built in red sandstone is surrounded by a huge boundary wall 33m high. Inside are exquisite palaces and beautiful gardens.


Afternoon you will head into New Delhi, visiting Humayun’s Tomb, an impressive garden tomb with high arches and a double dome, built by his wife Haji Begum in the 16th Century. An early example of Mughal architecture considered the predecessor of the Taj Mahal. Then continue on to the wonderful Qutab Minar - the landmark of Delhi, the beautiful grounds feature the well preserve a huge tower of victory standing over 72 meters.


You will drive on to Rajpath and through to India Gate and the Lutyens Delhi with its tree lined boulevards leading to the British Viceroy’s Palace (Rashtrapati Bhavan) now the official residence of the President of India, the Secretariat, India Gate and Parliament House.

Day 3: Delhi to Amritsar by train
- Transfer from Hotel to New Delhi railway station in time to board train for Amritsar.
- 13:40 Hrs: Arrive Amritsar railway station.
- Upon arrival at Amritsar railway station, meet and assist by our representative and transfer to hotel.
- Evening visit Golden Temple

Day 4: Amritsar
Morning visit Golden Temple.

Jalianwala Bagh:
Here on 13 April 1919 British Indian Army soldiers under the command of Brigadier-General Reginald Dyer opened fire on an unarmed gathering of men, women and children and killed 379 people.


- In the afternoon excursion to Wagah border to witness change of guard ceremony between India and Pakistan armies.

Day 5:
Amritsar Chandigarh by train
Chandigarh to Kalka by surface (Approx.30 Kms, 1 Hr)
Kalka to Shimla by train


- Transfer from Hotel to Amritsar railway station in time to board train for Chandigarh.
- 09:20 Hrs: Arrive Chandigarh raiway station.
- Upon arrival at Chandigarh railway station drive to Kalka railway station to board Toy trains offers the charm of old-world travel amidst lofty pines and lush green, misty mountains. Laid out on a 96 km long narrow gauge track that passes through 103 tunnels and across more than 800 bridges and viaducts, it is one of the most beautiful hill railways in India. It was considered the “crown jewel” of the Indian National Railways during British times.
- 17:30 Hrs: Arrive Shimla railway station.
- Upon arrival at Shimla, check in at hotel.

Day 6: Shimla
- After breakfast Heritage Walk of Shimla.


Heritage Walk of Shimla:
This soft walk will commence at the Mall and will end near Cecil Hotel – en-route admiring the important buildings consturcted during the days of the British Raj. During the Heritage walk your local guide will give you brief history of each building. After breakfast Heritage Walk from Hotel to Mall road.


Viceregal Lodge Indian Institute of Advanced study:
The site for Viceregal Lodge was selected by Lord Lytton the Viceroy of India between 1876 -1880. The Viceregal Lodge, also known a Rashtrapati Niwas is located on the Observatory Hill of Shima. It was formerly the residency of the British Viceroy of India. It was designed by British architect Hendry Irwin and built in the Jacobe than style during the regime of Lord Dufferin. Its construction stared in 1880 and completed in 1888.


Jhaku Temple/ Hill (2455 Mts.):
This is the town's highest peak and a vantage point for Shimla's famous views. The summit is crowned with a temple dedicated to monkey God Hanuman. This also offers a very good view of the Shimla with snow capped mountains. One legend goes that Lord Hanuman stopped there to rest while he was searching for the Sanjivni Booti to revive Lakshman in the Epic Ramayana.


Gaiety Theatre:
The Gaiety Theatre, and a tradition of amateur theatrical remains in the stump of the once colossal edifice that was the Town Hall. The architect Henry Irwin, who built the Viceregal Lodge, designed the theatre building.

Day 7: Shimla
- Today you will enjoy Himachali cuisine demonstration.

Day 8:
Shimla to Kalka by surface
Kalka to Delhi by train


- After breakfast drive to Kalka railway station in time to board train for Delhi. Local snacks, tea / coffee and Dinner will be served on board.
- 21:55 Hrs: Arrive New Delhi railway station.
- Upon arrival at New Delhi railway station transfer to hotel.
- Overnight stay at hotel.


Day 9: Delhi to Agra by surface (Approx. 210 kms, 4 Hrs)
- After breakfast check out from Hotel and drive from Delhi to Agra – medieval city on the banks of the Yamuna River. It was founded by Sultan Sikandar Lodi in the year 1506. Agra achieved fame as the capital of the Mughal emperors from 1526 to 1658 and remains a major tourist destination because of its many splendid Mughal-era buildings. Most notably the Taj Mahal, Agra Fort and Fatehpur Sikri, all three of which are UNESCO World Heritage Sites


Agra Street Food Walk:
A visit to Agra is incomplete without tasting it’s delightful local cuisine. This food walk of Agra will help you taste delicious street food dishes of varied Indian cuisines available from some of the oldest and most reputed food joints in the city. All the food items have been personally tested and are as safe as possible. It is a walking tour of Agra city in which you will visit walk around some non-touristy markets of Agra city and taste some of the best local food dishes. The food served in this food walk is equivalent to one meal plus various snacks served during a duration of 3-4 hours. We visit around 7-9 different food places and taste the authentic local street food of Agra and a full meal for dinner. This food walk can be enjoyed by vegetarians as well as non-vegetarians.

Day 10: Agra
- Morning visit the world famous monument Taj Mahal (Closed on Fridays).


Taj Mahal:
Overlooking the River Yamuna, the Taj Mahal is a classic example of Mughal architecture, with the Taj itself built as a mausoleum at the northern end of an extensive formal walled garden designed in the charbagh style and structured on the Islamic theme of ‘paradise’. The whole site was built by Shah Jahan between ad 1632 and 1653 as the final resting place of his favourite wife Arjumand Bann Begum (also known as Mumtaz Mahal) who died in ad 1631 shortly after giving birth to their fourteenth child. Upon his death in ad 1666, Shah Jahan was buried alongside his wife in the Taj.

Agra Fort:
Agra Fort was originally a brick fort and the Chauhan Rajputs held it. It was mentioned for the first time in 1080 AD when a Ghaznavide force captured it. Sikandar Lodi (1487-1517) was the first Sultan of Delhi who shifted to Agra and lived in the fort. He governed the country from here and Agra assumed the importance of the second capital. He died in the fort in 1517 and his son, Ibrahim Lodi, held it for nine years until he was defeated and killed at Panipat in 1526. He built several palaces, wells and a mosque in the fort during his period.


Itmad-Ud-Daulah Tomb:
Itmad-Ud-Daulah Tomb also called “Baby Taj” has a special place in the chronicles of both historyas well as architecture. This is precisely because Itmad ud Daula is the very first tomb in India that is entirely made out of Marble. This is actually a mausoleum that overlooks the River Yamuna and is a tomb of Mir Ghiyas Beg, a minister in the court of Shah Jahan.


- Evening enjoy sunset view of Taj Mahal from Mehtab Bagh - The Garden complex, situated on the opposite bank of the Taj Mahal, is known as Mehtab Bagh.

Day 11: Agra to Delhi by surface
- After breakfast check out from Hotel and drive from Agra to Delhi.
- Upon arrival at Delhi, check in at hotel.
- Rest of the day at leisure and overnight stay at hotel.


Day 12: Depart Delhi
- Breakfast at hotel.
- 12:00 noon standard check out time.
- Transfer from hotel to Delhi airport in time to board flight for onward journey.
