Lying between the states of Negeri Sembilan and Johore on the West Coast of Peninsula Malaysiam the historical city of Malacca was an important trading post in Malaysia\'s early history and attrected Asian, Chinese and Indian traders from the region.  The city is divided into old and new sections.  The older part of the city is fairly compact and has many historical attractions whilst the new section, lying across the Malacca River, contains modern shipping centres and is the food and entertainment district.
